The Puyohs - We're Puyohs~~

This is another I.U day event from SMKM. Actually is a quite rush event, we didn't have enough time to prepare for 4 new songs in a month time, without Jiaee here at KL with us is also a very tough task. OK, din't prepare well is actually our own problem and we can't blame on other thing.

The songs that we played for that day was Nobody - Wondergirls (sang by Jiaee), Supermasive Blackhole - Muse (Sang by Ivan and Jiaee), Baik-baik Sayang - Wali Band (sang by Ivan and Jiaee), 陳綺貞-躺在你的衣柜 (The Puyohs),Trouble Is a Friend - Lenka (The Puyohs) and 静止 (The Puyohs).

We wanna announce that WE'RE BACK!! We know we're not some big shit band and we're still sucks big time but this cannot stop us from blogging and telling the world that we're doing fine with the band and our life. Before moving into the main topic where we just performed at SMKM for their I.U Day 2010 on 14th August 2010. We wanna talk a little bit about our recent conditions here.

Voice (Sok Ling official English name)
Voice been doing very well, after she finished her Hair Course, she straight away got her job from Kim Marie and save lots of time to look for jobs. She's now located at Time Square Kim Marie 4th floor for those who wanna get a hair cut please go there and find her. Just tell the Reception that you want Voice to cut your hair.

Besides that, she also appeared in I feel issue I don't know which one. But the one with Nicholas Teo as the front cover and she's the main focus for hair talk section for that month. She's had been working for 3 months already and she's now balancing her career and her hobby (singing in our band) very well. Moving on next.

Jiaee
This duck here been improving in her guitar skills. After we didn't see her for a few months. Instead of joining colleges or universities she joined form 6.....wth~~7 A's and she joined form 6...is ok anyway.

She's doing extremely find i would say besides gaining some weight and recently been seriously active in facebook and seems like very girlish now. Other than that she's still her. Quack Quack~

Iys
He still wo he is, besides saying he's improving his guitar and bass skills I think not much to update. Oh ya, and football skill...and he's joining a football club at Kepong called Soonye Football Club SFC.

Alvin
Having lots of personal issue...mixing up lots of emotion problems....being very busy with works and went to gym quite often these days. Compare to last time, much more thinner but still looks like a monkey. I would say he didn't improve much on his skills in guitar because lack of practice but somehow he still manage to merge in...hahaha~~

Stanley
Quite alot to say about him. Stanley move back to KL and with us last 2 months. He'll be staying at KL from now on but despite he lack of practicing drums at home. He 's not so in form recently but everyone believes he'll be on form soon. Heard that he will take lesson again soon.

More details post of each of us will be post soon~~Gonna make this site alive again~~yay~~

The Puyohs has been quite quiet recently due to many cases and problems where Alvin....still remain the same. Iys.....not much changes.....i guess. Stanley went back to hometown was quite a big problem...we had less time together~~is a bit sad thou because of this we're are slacking too meanwhile Ling is focusing on her studies and future so is really not a good time to be commited to the band for now and Jiaee start her form 6~~everyone has his or her own things to do~~

One big anouncement is Wen Ying is no longer with us in the band because of study and her own decission and we respect her for making that decission. We hope you can sucesss in your future~~

First half of the year has passed now we're going to go through the second half of the year means there're suppose to be few IU days event we can perform. We'll try our best to grab those events and perform. That's all for now~~wish us luck~~

So everyone gather at Ling's house around like 11am...started with so chit chat for almost half and hour, practice chat practice chat...not really practice at all...haha..just discuss about the arrangement and teach Jiaee on some stuff. Yeah, the event started at around 6.30. They actually had this performers red carpet thingy but we not around so we miss that...haha..red carpet?? Thought we're some kind of stars or celebrities??

Received a called from Ivan, saying that our friend here from Creation Band vox/guitarist Chia Lok's guitar spoiled and wanted to borrow the guitar from us. At first he wanted to use the semi acoustic but too bad our semi acoustic had some problem too...so what to do...he used our electric guitar instead (Unlucky man~). Sang a song with his band vocalists Sara and Maggie if not mistaken (Nice cover~). Meanwhile we're rushing to fix the semi acoustic because if we din fix it, we're done for.

Luck is on our side, we manage to fixed the guitar and we're ready to perform. Not much to say. Let the video talks~~enjoy~~

It's been quite awhile since we update ourselves even in twitter~Alright, before we going to talk for the upcoming event, let us talk a bit of bullshit and history of the band~It start like this~~
Hahaha, basically this is how we started as a 3 piece band and soon after that we found Jiaee, Sok Ling and Wen Ying, all the leng luis in The Puyohs~~haha~~ More video coming soon~~

It was quite a sudden news for us when our friend Chloe told us that she found one event for us to perform and it's called the a.e.i.o.u Day at SMK Hwa Lian, Mentakab this coming month 27th~ As soon as we held a meeting on 5th of February, we decided to perform on this event. It's a 25 minutes sessions for us to do everything.

We'll be playing 4 cover songs, we won't be telling what songs to play so it will be quiet fun when people listen to us that day. But there'll be 3 different languages in the 4 songs we played. We're now practicing on it and we're doing our best.

For all our friends if the happens to be there on that there please come and support us. We really wants you guys to listen to us. That's why we're in a band today, to perform and entertain you guys out there and we hope after this event people will give us more chances to perform at other events.

We'll do our best~~!!!

It's been quite awhile "The Puyohs" didn't do anything and rest....I think it's time for us to stand up and start working on our engine back. Tonight we'll be doing a band meeting about this coming month march 27th performance. It's called a.e.i.o.u day. Thanks to Chloe Tham we got this performance to work on. Really appreciate it.

To be honest, if we didn't quarrel in a band...we won't improve~For the past 2 weeks we've been gone thru some hellish moment for our band and I don't even wanna think about it again but it's also a good experience so that we can avoid next time~

The reason why I said we need to start over again is because we always stick back to what me, iys and stanley wanted to play. A meeting for this time is quite a good idea that we let our vocals to choose the songs they like~and we hope to choose some songs that quite easy and nice to play with.

Some of our choices~
1.Muse - Time Is Running Out~~Vocals really need to improve on this song~~
2. Garasi - Hilang ~Jiaee Chan on vocal and Ling will back up....the music we need to findout more~~
3.The Cranberries - Zombie ~Ling, we trust you~~
4. Lenka - Trouble is A Friend ~Ling, u sounds good in this~~

We'll try to play 2 more chinese songs and we need to choose when the meeting is on~It's really time for us to be serious~~Everyone in the band please focus and commit....don't play play~~

It's been not that long since we're a team but we had great time together. We spent all the while in this few months or half a year to be happy as a band. Every band will face their problem and now we're facing one problem.

Quarreling or arguing in a band is normal and it frequently happen. Different opinions and also mood stability are also factors that made all these happen. But remember if we're in a band, we're nakamas, buddies, brothers and sisters, no wall between us and we're all equally good, stupid or whatever. We had our own specialty I believe.

The promise we made and also the motivation we spoke of during our meetings I really meant to implement into each of you. We love each others and please be considerate when talking about the band. One might hurt another if we simply say something because we already treat each others so good and just because of a problem we faced we tend to make things upside down is not really what I wish for.

For all the members of "The Puyohs" please be rational and think positively because we're going to go further and we're not gonna step back or disappoint those that supports us for what we're doing, friends, family and everyone. I hope we'll solves this problem as soon as possible....

14th of January 2010, our vocalist Sok Ling turns to 20 years old~~already start with the No.2 at the first no. welcome to the club~~now only Jiaee and Wen Ying are still below 20. The Puyohs members here wish you to have a good and enjoyable day, forget what's that not good in the past and what problem now can be solves if we have the heart~just don't give up on what you're doing and you achieve almost everything you want.

Lets talk abit about her since today is her big day, she joined "The Puyohs" for almost half a year to be exact is 5 months 2 days in total. Her commitment in the band is acceptable but for me to judge she's actually very commit to the band already.

A little bit about her personalities, she's cheerful & friendly girl althou you won't see it at first. she might look action or lansi at first but once you know her well she's a friend you can give up on I would say. Everyone by her side felts happy and funny. And she's a big idiot thou~~like everyone in the band~~haha

Besides that she's a talented hair designer and vocal....she designs hair for everyone in "The Puyohs" and some customers out there. I found out that I really very less cut my hair in a year time until she shows up. Thanks ar Potato~~

If you ask me to continue writting I might not gonna end this in awhile time but overall i think i shud stop here. Get back to work and last but not least, good luck in whatever you do, fight for whatever you do and you'll gain whatever you want. I wish we'll be in this band till we're in the coffin thou~~hahaha~

Seldom talk much on other stuffs except our own band stuffs but this time we wanna bring you a very nice and well rated Indonesian Movie called "Garasi" where Iys and Stanley introduced to me. I think people that have a band out there will find it very interesting to watch and maybe for those that don't really like band and stuffs some might find it a good movie too. It's about band and love story. If you compare this movie with "Nana" I think this is much nicer than "Nana" because it's more focus on music whereelse "Nana" was focusing too much on the love story~Just give it a shot and I don't even wanna compare to Hollywood movie like band slam or freaky friday~ just see how artisitic and good asian movie can produce~enjoy~

Yesterday night the 5 members of The Puyohs band (Iys, Stanley, Jiaee, Wen Ying and Alvin) went and watch this movie called "The Vampire's Assistant" at Pavillion. We thought it might be a great movie but it turns out to be a shitty movie~~let's proceed to more details....

Iys:
I dunno about him~~but he doesn't seems to be enjoying the movie~~

Stanley :
His face stone on the middle of the movie I can see that because I'm sitting next to him~And he keep complaining about how sucks the movie was~

Jiaee :
She said "Not bad ma, I quite like it~~" and we're like "Huh?! You serious??" and then Stanley asked her "this or Twilight is better?" and she answered "Twilight" and we replied we thought both also suck ass~~and she looks kinda down~~hahahaha

Wen Ying :
She has a bad habit sleeping in Cinema.....she wakes up a couple of time during Avatar that's what I heard even thou Avatar is so good~but this time she's sleeping all the time in the Cinema until the shows end~~hahahaha....

Alvin :
The Suckiest movie in 2010 althou I only watch this movie this year~~haha, but good thing that this set the lowest requirement for my whole year movie rating I guess so any other movies might be more enjoyable that this.

Althou you can see how bad I described about this movie and telling you nothing or any other reasons is because I respected people out there that havent watch this movie. I won't write any spoiler about this. I will tell you the starting is quite interesting especially the intro part...It was an awsome motion graphic~~Try and watch yourself and tell it yourself...you might like it or you''ll hate it~~

After quite some times we finalize our members in The Puyohs, and we found yesterday was the right time to discuss about our band future plan or maybe this year plan because Jiaee and Wen Ying stopped working at Genting and looking for jobs at KL meanwhile Stanley back from Mentakab. This is the first time 6 of us gathered around and discuss, we just had a meeting where only Me, Sok Ling, Iys and Stanley. Althou the meeting not going very well, Iys and Stanley joking around, Wen Ying looks sick, Jiaee quite blur....only Sok Ling and Me seems quite focus. Hahaha, good job everyone. I don't want the meeting goes too tension as well. It start with :

-Improving ourself~
How are we gonna improve ourselves, actually few are doing it already like Stanley : he's learning drum for about 3 months plus and he still passionate and learning now at KL thou everyday friday he need to come to KL from Mentakab just for the Lesson. Jiaee's learning guitar from Iys and myself, we'll teach her everything but due to our limited skills I hope she can explore more by herself, for myself : I've registered for electric guitar course at Yamaha and starting tomorrow. Wen Ying : We've never jam with her before but as long as she has the passion I guess she can do it....the only thing is she got no experience in band stuffs so she'll need time to gel in~Iys, I no comment. I always trust that he can do it by himself. Last but not least Sok Ling, thou she had the natural talent in singing but she still insist to learn more, is great! But due to her study life her financial is a matter but she'll be graduating this Feb and soon she'll be working so I think she can learn after she got her first Salary~~if everything goes smooth I guess we can upgrade to another level. -Events & Performances
This is the one factor that made the band lack of spirit I guess. I still remembered when our first performace at Hwa Lian, me, Iys and Stanley practice everyday. It's really motivated us to became stronger~We've been searching and searching for events to fit in last year but failed, we just had 2 performances last year and band members at that time is still not perfect yet. Now we have everyone needed, we'll try to attack again with all this nakama this year. Maybe we won't be so happening at KL but we want to play all the events at Mentakab~!! For some info, I guess there're a few events that maybe we can get : TOA gradution day, Genting Charity Event, Smkm IU day, Hwa Lian IU day, probably some dance competition events and some artistes signature conferences that we can play. We just hope we can perform in all this events. We'll try our best!!

-Our Own Song
We've wrote a song last year, it's not done yet. Still half way thou but we'll try to finish it and make it a good song so we can go for competitions and stuffs. I've been always wanted to do this. If possible we'll try to go into Indies Industry first. But we really need to work very hard on the improving ourselves and this song writing~~

Althou the meeting doesn't last very long and not very formal but I guess everyone has been moved. Wen Ying straight went to the keyboard and practice go gain her skills back, Jiaee and Iys practicing guitar all night, Stanley playing facebook....hahaha. Joking, he's been dicussing band stuff with me and Sok Ling. I guess is not bad that we had a meeting yesterday. It's really worth to see everyone's working hard. This is our dream, if you guys considered it as your dream too. We'll fight for it. Good Luck all the Puyohs~!!!

As I stated on previous post. Sok Ling appeared in I Feel for Kim Marie Academy. The outcome not very satisfying because I don't know the photographer touch up those photos or not? Because you can see a lot of flaw appearing~~bad photographer~~

One fine day, our friend Ivan and his brother were walking around at Puchong and someone just handed them this flyer and what's so great about this flyer was, Sok Ling, The Puyohs vocalist's picture had been published into the flyer~~have a look~~
